Thunderbolts and Lightning...Very Very Frightning!

The thunderstorm count is up to 5 now in the 23 days that I have been here. FIVE. This wouldn't be a big issue if they didn't happen in the middle of the night. Also, being on the 10th floor it feels like they are actually happening directly outside my window.

The storm last night was epic to say the least. I didn't go to sleep until around 1:30 and it started at approximately 1:35, I figured it would last for maybe an hour and blow past.... boy was I wrong. At 5:30 it was still going on. I can not sleep through these storms no matter how hard I try. The thunder is so loud it shakes you to your very core, that even if you managed to fall asleep for a minute or two, it doesn't last for long.

Needless to say I didn't get to sleep until about 6:00 today and was up at 11:00. A good solid 5 hours of sleep probably isn't enough for me to get over this sickness that I have. Unfortunately I was woken up by some lady knocking at my door. Scratch that, knocking isn't the right word. Banging. Pounding. I didn't open the door. It was for her own safety really, I was libel to throw her over the railing to the parking lot below.

Yesterday (Saturday) I did some exploring in my area, and actually got lost. I didn't find anything amusing or interesting. I walked down some semi-sketchy furniture district apparently. I did find a 7-11 which wasn't even noteworthy. There were two white guys in there though who I was pretty excited to see, until I realized that they were in suits and carrying bibles... I said a very brief hello and ran out of the store.

Later I met up with a girl that I met a few weeks ago and because we are both sick (and haven't been paid yet) we kept it pretty low key. Hung out, went and got some food, watched a movie... like I said low key but still a great time. We made all these tentative "we should do _____!" future plans. I hope they pan out. Also when I get my Alien Registration Card I'll be able to go out with her and her friends in her area and take a taxi home. Right now my schedule is dictated by the subway because I don't know where I live (it says your address in Korean on your ARC, so you can just show it to the taxi driver and he knows where to take you).

Oh, I also have a huge blood smear down my wall. Gross. I finally found one of the mosquitoes that has been biting me at night. I smacked it and out gushed all this blood. Now it won't come off my wall. Great. Everyone loves a good blood smear to look at when they wake up in the morning.

I hear that the Riders had their last regular season game back home (or are having it right now) so I'm off to check the score. I never though I would actually miss seeing Rider games as much as I do. And this is only regular season....
