Life in the 3 Block part 3

For all those curious minds, yes there have been two more apartment announcements. One came on a Saturday morning and was followed by a knock on the door awhile later. Gas check, nothing major...but kinda glad I opened the door. Now I know that I won't die in my sleep, or start a fire. The lady even spoke a few words of English!

Speaking of English....I had a man speak English to me in the elevator! His English was poor but I got that he was asking how long I was going to be in the building for. When I said a year I'm pretty sure that I saw a scowl and that was the end of the conversation.

Another trip in the elevator faced me with a father and son. The dad clearly told the son to say hello to me in English. Apparently I am scary because he grabbed his fathers arm, tried to wiggle behind him and kept shaking his head. I tried to saying hello first but this only terrified him more and when the elevator doors open the kid bolted.

The little old man who protects the buildings from evil-doers continues to invite me under the stairs for food, I have yet to accept. Usually I am in a hurry, and I'm not gonna lie, I'm slightly creeped out. He is a harmless but for real... I don't like it under the stairs.

I was woken up the this morning by jackhammering...I tried to sleep through it but no dice. I'm trying to give the impression that it was early in the morning. It wasn't. It was 10:20. BUT, I had a bout of insomnia the night before that kept me up until 4:00.

Other than that things have been quiet. I may have finally figured out how to turn on some heat in this place. I had my a colleague of my mom's who is Korean help translate my thermostat... I'll try that puppy out tonight and see.

Well that's the skinny from the 3 block.
