As I noted in an earlier post, plans for my Saturday afternoon changed. The afternoon was still enjoyable, but I have to admit I was pretty disappointed in the change of plans.
I was 15 early minutes to meet my friend, and while I sat outside waiting for her I had a typical...yet hilarious... Koren experience. I was situated right near a subway exit and a group of high school boys walked out. Immediately they saw me and started whispering. The bravest of them stepped up and walked closer to me and say "HI!"... I replied "hi" back and was met with giggles and then he said "ok" and ran away. RAN. I said he ran. It was awesome. There was another boy in the group who was walking slower and waved and smiled at me, so i waved back and he started giggling and ran away. It was awesome. I'm not sure you can really fully get the humor of this situation unless it has happened to you.
The afternoon was spent walking around a mall and then walking around outside. Although it was cold (about 0 Degrees Celsius) and the wind was a bitch... Regina-type winds....so we weren't out for long. I did break down and have my first Starbucks since arriving. I loved every minute of it. I'm not a big Starbucks fan unless it's around Christmas... and I basically felt like I was drinking Christmas in a cup. Thankfully there isn't a Starbucks anywhere near me so my pay cheque is safe.
It was a lazy afternoon and not that interesting, but at least I was outside of my apartment. Gonna have to get used to the cold weather again though, and maybe wearing my winter jacket might help.

Hahaha! This totally bring sback the memories of Sackville. And just when we'd regained our composure and matured 10 years again, we found out there was also a LOWER Sackville. Bah!
