Things have been semi-quiet lately on the home stance. However there are two things to note...
I think that my neighbours and building manager worry that I'm note eating. Whenever I pass anyone who is willing to look at me they say something and make a motion of eating. I still presume they are asking if I am eating and just nod enthusiastically and smile. For all I know though they could be telling me that they are going to eat, or inviting me to eat and I never show up.... who knows. I should walk around with my rice cooker though and try and get someone to help me figure out how to use it.
The two old men and their silver drum have migrated closer to my building. They are now directly on my corner instead of across the street, now I have no choice but to pass them. I have discovered that they are definitely cooking something in that barrel-drum thing... I saw someone yesterday buying something from them, but it was in a bag so I couldn't see what it is. The one man is getting more adventurous and trying to talk to me more... just today we almost had a conversation. He told me that my face mask was "very beautiful" and "number one!"... not sure what he meant by mask.. make up? or just face in general. Who knows. Then he said something that sounded like "Korea newtanger".... I made him repeat it 6 times before I figured out he was saying "Korea no danger", or in other words, Korea is safe. A bunch of "okay"s were exchanged, giggles on both parts...and I was on my way. These men really do make me smile every time I interact with them. Maybe someday soon they'll just give me whatever it is that they are cooking.
There is a notice up in the elevators with the date of November 7th. I presume something is happening on Saturday. Any guesses what it could be this time?
In other news, I traveled via bus to Emart today for the first time. The whole adventure went almost perfectly, until I was on my way home. I realized that I had no idea where to get off. I remember Krista saying to get off after a big hill... after going over 3 hills I worried that I missed it so I pressed the button. Turns out I was just a little anxious and got off a few stops too early, it only added about a 10-15 minute walk but being that I'm sick, it felt like a lifetime.

They aren't asking if you are eating, they are asking if you'd like something to eat it's a cultural thing. I think you should leave the rice cooker allow and stick to burning popcorn instead.
