I consider my first home my parents house back in Regina. And contrary to what you may think my second home is not my apartment here in Korea. My apartment is just that, my apartment... not home. It is a place where I sleep, sometimes eat and rarely clean...to me a home symbolizes a lot more than that. My second home is actually Jon and Krista's apartment in Seoul. They started joking about it and asking me if I was "coming home" this weekend, then I actually thought about it and it's kind of true.
So what did a trip home have in store for me on Saturday? Mexican! Yes, the toaster oven made an appearance again and Krista made some killer nachos. We also had some Mexican rice, and of course, tequila.

Then after our delicious meal it was time for some beer... or better yet... a lot of beer. We drank 24 cans of beer. And not even good beer, Korean beer. We played some drinking games (my first since arriving) and I was in heaven. Jon had monopoly express and was determined to make it in to a drinking game. To be honest, Jon came up with too many rules and the game took some strategy so it actually wasn't that fun (and I'm all for inventing drinking games!). Drinking games need to be simple. Krista and I quickly took over and moved on to Fuck the Dealer.
What do you do when both your friends are in the bathroom forever? Make beer towers of course!

We started drinking at about 7 and by 11 all the beer was gone so we decided to head to the Funky Dunky for a drink. The highlight of the bar was when Jon was given the Absolut Disco light. He has had his eye on it for some time now and had asked if he could buy it awhile ago. He was told that he could have it after Halloween. Well last night they asked about it and the manager ended up giving it to him for free! It was pretty sweet. Jon kept insisting to pay but they would have none of it. Eventually both parties settled on Jon buying some them some beers.

The next morning started with baileys and coffee (mmmmmmm) and then Jon made some hoedduk which were actually really good! You can buy the mix from the store and it's something I may actually even be able to do. But it makes a lot and for one person seems ridiculous. I was also treated to a good ol fashion breakfast of ham, eggs and cheese....delicious! There really should be no question as to why I keep coming back here... good friends, good times, beer, delicious food.... in fact, I was so serious about living there I've even moved in a pair of PJs and a toothbrush!

oh god Jon and Krista if by any chance you happen to read her blogs i hope you get this message. Beware when she feels she is home, she does not cook, clean but does help with eating and drinking. Wait she will do dishes. However, she comes and sometimes stays longer then expected. hahaha love you Jana and we do miss you. laughed so hard had tears reading this blog. yeah riders win... oh and the colts won too
jon & krista,
thank you for being my baby sis's adopted korean family. I wasn't really worried about her, but it's nice to know she's not drinking alone..most of the time. the only thing i was worried about was that she would start making up drinking games for one.
I finally got her to give me the address to her blog! Of course, I was looking for a post that had to do with staying at our apartment.
So, first thing is first. There were not too many rules! The object of the game was to drink, and I think we accomplished that. However, when we did move to Fuck the Dealer, I certainly got Fucked. At least I wasn't thirsty.
Thanks for the tip about her staying too long, I'll keep an eye out for it ;)
This weekend Jana is coming 'home', it will be 3 weeks since the last visit! Can't wait, it will be fun! Maybe even a little Nori Bang action...
