Ancient Proverb: Rain=Good

Since arriving on Friday night there have been two massive thunderstorms. One happened while we were in Emart on the Friday. We tried to wait it out but after about 20 minutes my boss, his wife and I made a mad dash for the car. This is not before I met another foreigner who was also waiting out the storm, he was kind of a weirdo but I can't really be that picky in friends right now. He gave me his name to add him on facebook, but in true Jana fashion I wasn't really listening when he talked and don't have a clue what his name is.

Moving back to the storms though. The one on Friday was sheet raining, crazy winds, thunder and lightning. It was intense. I wasn't sure if it seemed more intense than the storms in Regina just because everything here seems so different and new, or if it really was that much crazier.

I didn't stay in Incheon on Saturday night so I don't know if it rained or not. The day was nice though. Sunday day and night was nice as well. This morning (Monday) though I was woken up around 4am by yet another huge thunderstorm. It was intense and kind of scary. I've also been scared of thunder because I am a baby. Loud noises scare me. It's the same reason that I plug my ears in movies when I get scared. I took a few pictures but didn't get any good ones. I also tried to take a video but didn't get a very good one either. It was 4:00 in the morning though, so you can't really blame me. I'm still not sure how to upload videos on here though.

On Saturday when I saw my boss he told me that according to an ancient Korean proverb, me showing up and it raining was a very good sign. Apparently it hadn't rained in a long time and the fact that it showed up when I arrived was a good sign. Funny because if that had happened in Canada I would have thought it was a very bad sign. Since I'm in Korea, I'm going to choose to believe the Korean version. Positive thoughts right?
