Well here's an update of life in my building. There has been two apartment announcements in the past two days. The last announcement went on for about two minutes which made me think that it was pretty important... but of course I had no idea what it meant.
My boss called about 20 minutes ago to tell me that the little man would be coming upstairs to make sure my heat is working because it is too cold in the apartment complex. Umm...okay. I mean it's been cold but that's because I rarely turn on my ondol (floor heating) because I am cheap...when I do turn it on however it works fine.
Long story short the man came up and everything is fine (as I knew it would be). Then we had a very awkward conversation with him speaking Korean, me speaking English and a dose of charades... I still don't understand. I think he was asking if I wanted to have lunch with him (again), which I obviously don't....not just because I am rude but because I have to leave for work in an hour and I haven't even started getting ready yet, or planning today's lesson. Of course I had to take time to update you all before I did anything productive today.
Also, I wish my taps understood hot and cold.. when the water is too hot I will turn the hot down and it gets hotter, so then i turn the cold more, and hotter still, so then I turn the hot almodt off.. and about 10 seconds later it gets really cold.. so then I add some hot... and it takes about 2 minutes for hot.. this may not sound like a big deal but when you're naked in the shower it effing sucks.
