I am on holidays now and I wasted most of Monday not doing anything... after my friend finished work we headed to Seoul to check out the 63 building. There is nothing special about this building from the outside, it looks like any other sky scraper that you would see in Canada... standard, rectangle, ugly. But inside there was an aquarium (albeit very small), wax museum (albeit shitty and not at all realistic), IMAX (which we didn't go to) and Sky Art (an art museum on the top floor).
From the description above the 63 building doesn't sound that great, but it is. I had a great time. It's kind of expensive so I won't make a habit of going but still great. My friend and I spent a couple hours there and ended off our night with beers looking over the Han River. It's called the 63 building because that is how many floors it is, it just happens that the first three are underground, so really when you're at the top floor you're only 60 floors up.
There was almost a mini-haunted house in the wax museum that they made us go in. Before entering my friend had told me that I had to "protect her" because she got scared really easily. About half way through there was this body on the floor and it came charging at us.. it was actually really scary. I jumped over it and bolted.. apparently I also pushed my friend back towards it. I had no intentions of saving or even helping her... as far as I was concerned it was every man for himself (so to speak). Then this thing came charging after us again... and I pushed my friend and ran. Hahaha, she made the comment that she would never want to be in a dark alley with me. I'm a good friend.
I'm still trying to figure out my camera so most of my pictures are blurry, but I'll post some anyways so you can get an idea.
It just so happens that this is the same place that a group of us are going to try and catch the sunrise on January 1st... hopefully all goes well there and we make it in time. I think it would be a great view.
Enjoy the pics, tonight I am making my way back in to Seoul to a Canadian bar that I've been trying to get to since arriving...
