Wednesday Ramblings

Well the men with the silver drum and sweat potatoes are not back, but I did manage to have about a 15 minute conversation with one of them today. I was headed to E-mart to get t-shirts for our scavenger hunt this weekend and he saw me crossing the street. He proceeded to walk me all the way down the street and in his limited English tell me that he loves Canada, America, Terminator, Rambo, Christopher Reeves and me. The conversation then led to him telling me something about how South Korea is "no danger", and if there was a war it would be North Korea, China and Russia against South Korea and America. He also told me not to go to any further than the subway station (Dongincheon) and definitely not to go to Seoul. I was actually surprised at how much English this man managed to speak. I shouldn't be though, Koreans understand and speak a lot more English than they let on.

On the school related front, the middle school students have an exam coming up in the next few weeks.. a big exam. What does this mean? That they have become assholes once again who refuse to talk to me. Last night I was so angry that I proceeded to leave every class early after scolding them for refusing to talk.. yes.. today should be fun. At least my bosses wife gave me juice and some sort of bread thing.

And on that note.. I'm off to work.
