Epic Fall

I've had an interesting day already and it's only 130....

Everything started off with my boss calling at 930 asking where I was. Now the backstory here was that I was supposed to meet at 10 this morning at my school to then go canvas at an elementary school for my hagwon (private school). This was all told to me on Friday. In true Korean fashion, plans changed and no one told me. I ran out the door and luckily found the elementary school. There were about 5 other hagwons there all shoving papers and bags at parents and children as they walked by. This made me completely uncomfortable as this is not my scene and not something generally done in Canada. Eventually three of us went to a different school where I was basically a novelty mean to just say hi to the children. No other hagwons brought their foreign teacher. Then off to the next school for more of the same. This lasted from 930-1230... then some of us teachers went for lunch and I ran home to change.

The running part is the important part.. I was running across the street with my hand in one pocket and my phone in the other when i tripped... full out trip.. flying through the air my head racing towards the ground. Instinctively I apparently threw my phone, got one hand down and ninja rolled over my shoulder and up on to my feet. If you had blinked or turned your head for a second you likely wouldn't have noticed that I fell. Luckily enough people had been staring at the white girl running that most everyone saw. No use wasting a good fall. I started walking to the sidewalk when a man ran over to tell me (and by tell, i mean grunt and point) that my phone was in the middle of the street. Overall it may have been my most epic fall ever, and my agility astounds me. It was definitely one of those moments that made you wish that your life was being taped.

And now... off to school...
